Anthony Hemmelgarn
Dr. Anthony Hemmelgarn collaborated with QIC-WD colleagues to assess organizational cultures and climates of QIC-WD grantee organizations and to implement ARC, an intensive organizational development model for improving organizational social contexts. His 20+ years of work with University of Tennessee colleagues helped establish the Organizational Social Context (OSC) measure, a measure of culture and climate applied by researchers and organizational leaders nationwide. He is also a primary co-developer and the lead implementation specialist for the empirically tested ARC model, designed to improve organizational social contexts. His expertise and consultation ranges from culture and climate assessment to extensive leader, team, and organizational development. The latter includes embedding psychological safety, establishing improvement-oriented teams, and applying myriad components and tools to strengthen cultures and climates, all of which can be further explored in Building Cultures and Climates for Effective Human Services (Hemmelgarn and Glisson, 2018). Dr. Hemmelgarn has a passion for strengthening organizations; one that is driven by years of empirical evidence of enriched cultures, higher staff engagement and retention, and improved services and outcomes for children and families.
